There are foam party cruises organized day and night. Let’s examine the holiday possibilities of Alanya together :)

Note: Alanya is located in Antalya. Click here for our detailed Antalya holiday article.

Cleopatra Beach

The world-famous Cleopatra Beach is the most preferred beach in Alanya with its eye-catching beauty. It was named after the Ancient Egyptian Queen Cleopatra. The beach attracts attention with its golden sandy beach. It is said that the sand of the beach was brought in Egypt specially for Cleopatra. The beach has a blue flag. The sea is very clear and clean. Entry to Cleopatra beach is free. If you are interested in water sports other than swimming, you can take advantage of opportunities such as jet ski, pedalo and parachute.

Alanya Castle

Alanya Castle is a unique cultural heritage. It is the only medieval settlement in Anatolia that could preserve its Seljuk identity. It is nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The length of the walls of the castle is 6.5 km.

You can reach the castle in two ways. The first one is with your car from the center of the bazaar. Second, you can take the cable car right next to the Damlataş Cave. We recommend that you take the cable car and take pictures of the unique Alanya view :) By the way, there are two castles on the hill, Ehmedek and İçkale.

Ehmedek

Ehmedek used to be a place where sultans and guest statesmen were hosted. The feature that distinguishes this castle from Anatolia is that it has been used uninterruptedly for centuries. You will see a mosque at the entrance of Ehmedek. This place is called Kale Mosque. This place was built in 1231 and then collapsed as a result of lightning strike. It was rebuilt by Suleiman the Magnificent. After passing the mosque, the magnificent view of Alanya will be waiting for you by the walls. Don’t forget to take lots of photos :)

Ickale

This is the highest point of Alanya Castle. Archaeological excavations carried out here show that this place was also used during the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods. Inside the İçkale, there is a Byzantine chapel, cisterns, an old bath and Man Shooter(!). If you are asking what is the Man Shooter? Those sentenced to death during the Roman Empire were kept in the warehouse for three days without food or water. Afterwards, he was taken up and given three stones in his hand and asked to throw them into the sea. If the prisoner could get one of the stones in his hand to the sea, he was saved from death. However, if he could not deliver, he was thrown from a height of 250 meters from here. Today, this place is used by tourists to make wishes and throw stones into the sea :)

Damlatas Cave

Now that our castle tour is over, it’s time to go down by cable car again. Damlataş cave is located next to the cable car station. Although the cave is quite small, it is visited by many tourists. It is 22 degrees in summer and winter inside. It is known that the air inside is good for asthma patients.

Alanya Archeology Museum

It is within walking distance of Damlataş Cave. Although it is a small museum, there are many statues, coins, mosaics, relics and sarcophagi from the ancient times. We definitely recommend museum lovers to visit.
