After Fatih Sultan Mehmet conquered Istanbul, its construction was started. The construction of the Palace, located at the tip of the Istanbul peninsula, was completed in 18 years. Topkapi Palace, located in Sarayburnu, is between the Bosphorus and the Golden Horn. It was used for 400 years as the educational, administrative and artistic center of the Ottoman Empire. Topkapı 1924 yılında müze olarak kullanılmaya başlanmıştır. It is the first museum of the Republic of Turkey. It is visited by thousands of tourists every year. Topkapi Palace was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1985. It is one of the world’s largest palace museums.

Sultanahmet Square

The starting point of Istanbul tours is Sultanahmet Square. The square takes its name from the Blue Mosque. The square was used as a hippodrome during the Roman and Byzantine periods. The obelisks, such as the Obelisk, the Serpent Column, and the Knitted Obelisk, whose remains have survived, are used to divide the hippodrome into two.

This place, which is very special in terms of its splendor, architecture, historical and cultural value and the art world, is one of the unique symbols of Istanbul.

The building, which is considered one of the wonders of the world and also known as “Hagia Sophia”, is one of the frequent destinations of local and foreign tourists in Istanbul. With a trip to this place, it is possible to open the door of history and wander around the historical peninsula and plunge into daydreams.

Grand Bazaar

The Grand Bazaar was built during the reign of Mehmet the Conqueror.It was opened to increase the income of the Ottoman Empire. Over time, the bazaar has become one of the most important trade centers in the region. The Grand Bazaar is the oldest shopping center in the world.

Galata Kulesi her yıl binlerce turist tarafından ziyaret edilmektedir. Bizans imparatoru Anastasius tarafından 528 yılında fener kulesi olarak inşa edilmiştir. Tarih boyunca esir barınağı, rasathane, yangın kulesi olarak kullanılmıştır. Galata Kulesi yapıldığı dönemin en uzun kulesidir. Tarih boyunca yangınlardan dolayı bir çok kez yıkılmış ve tekrar inşa edilmiştir.

Taksim Square

Taksim Square is one of the liveliest spots in Istanbul.The square is in the shape of a circle and there is the Republic Monument in the middle. One side of the monument describes the War of Independence and the other side of Turkey after the proclamation of the Republic. Taksim is a place famous for its historical passages. It is the most popular street of Istanbul. It is a pedestrian-only street where nostalgic trams run. It is surrounded by historical embassy buildings allocated to consulates during the republican period. Istiklal Street offers 24-hour entertainment life with its cafes, bars, restaurants, art centers, cinemas, shopping centers and historical texture.

Suleymaniye Mosque

It was built between 1551-1557 by the order of Suleiman the Magnificent. Süleymaniye Mosque is the work of Mimar Sinan. Architect Sinan has thought of the Mosque down to the smallest details. For weeks he has adjusted the acoustics using empty cubes. He developed ideas for using the soot from oil lamps as ink. Süleymaniye Mosque is a mosque that arouses admiration for these and other reasons.

Dolmabahçe Palace

It is the place where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic, died. The palace has a great place in the hearts of the Turkish people. For this reason, Dolmabahçe Palace is one of the most emotional places on the list of places to visit in Istanbul.

Dolmabahçe Palace was built in 1856 on the order of Sultan Abdülmecit. Abdülmecit wanted this palace to have a European style. The construction of the palace, which has 285 rooms, 26 halls, 6 baths and 68 toilets, was very expensive for the sultan.

On November 10, 1938, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk passed away in room 71. Today, when you go to Dolmabahçe Palace, you can see this room and personal belongings of Atatürk.

Bosphorus

One of the first places that comes to mind when Istanbul is mentioned is the Bosphorus. We can say that it is the place that adds all its beauty to Istanbul.

  Tours are organized in the Bosphorus, which stretches between Anadolu Hisarı and Rumeli Hisarı. You can join the Bosphorus tours organized by the City Lines round trip. There are two types of tours, long and short. Even moonlight tours are organized so that you can see the beauty of the Bosphorus in the evening.

 If you want to watch the Bosphorus from afar, you can go to Büyükada, Heybeliada or Kınalıada and enjoy the cruise. You can also eat at the restaurants with a Bosphorus view while watching the beauty of the scenery.

Eminonu

Eminönü is one of the most famous districts of the city. Eminönü is surrounded by the Rüstem Pasha Mosque and the Süleymaniye Mosque. Located within the borders of the Historic Peninsula, the district also hosts many places that we have added to our list of places to visit in Istanbul. In other words, you will inevitably fall on your way to this district.

When you come to Eminönü, you should never return without first sitting on the stools of the restaurants lined up on the Golden Horn Bridge and eating fish and bread. If you don’t eat, you don’t come to Istanbul. :) At the same time, you can buy bagels for the seagulls and feed them while standing on the Golden Horn and watching the view. After fulfilling another Istanbul classic, you can go shopping in the shops where you can find everything you are looking for in Eminönü.

Ortakoy Mosque

It’s time for the main character of the famous Ortaköy photographs. Everyone who goes to Ortaköy must take a picture of the landscape that includes this mosque. It was built by Sultan Abdülmecit in 1853.
