Once upon a time, one of the seven wonders of the world was located here. Queen of Caria II. It was built by Artemisia for her deceased husband and brother King Mausolos. The mausoleum was destroyed in an earthquake after standing for 1500 years. After it was destroyed, the stones of the tomb were used by the Knights of Saint Jean in the construction of Bodrum Castle. Zeki Muren House
Zeki MUREN’s house, known as the “Sun of Art” in Turkey. He spent the last 6 years of his life in Bodrum. After his death, his house was converted into a museum by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Zeki MUREN impressed the country with his unique attitude, stance and proper Turkish.
Since he only used the lower floor of the house when he was alive, the lower floor was arranged and the upper floor was converted into a museum. In the museum, his belongings, clothes that attracted attention in his period, and his own paintings are exhibited. It is visited by thousands of tourists every year.
